Tom is the brother of one of our clients and was one of the initial Trustees appointed. Professionally, Tom has worked in e-commerce for some of the more recognisable high street brands leading trading teams. He brings good commercial acumen to the board. Recently he has taken the first steps in a career change, starting as a Learning Support Assistant at Clarendon School, a school for children with moderate learning disabilities which a number of our clients attended, before commencing his teacher training in 2021.
Alice's career to date has been largely in Information Technology, specifically helping drive change through technology. She currently holds the role of Technology Business Partner for British Red Cross (London). Her previous role within the British Red Cross as a Manager in Restoring Family Links (RFL) service has given Alice frontline experience of working with families in difficult situations (locating & reuniting relatives missing due to war, migration or natural disasters both in the UK and overseas). In addition Alice has a large amount of experience in strategic planning and is keen to support Absolute Support Leading Light to ensure the charity’s vision is realised, that beneficiaries continue to be identified and that needs continue to be met.
Alison is the mother of one of our clients. Alison has a background in nursing and, subsequently, sports’ health care. She held the position as Chair of Governors of local outstanding secondary school for 5 years. In October 2016 she set up her own Charity (Down Syndrome Swimming Great Britain) and remains Trustee and Committee member of this organisation. Alison has trained as an inclusion trainer and worked as an advocate for parents in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, supporting young people through their mainstream education. She is keen to tackle discrimination through her own and others’ behaviours, language, attitudes, conscious and unconscious bias and actions, thus supporting her work with Absolute Support Leading Lives to ensure that the clients are able to be the best versions of themselves.
