The Worlds Downs Syndrome Swimming Championships 2018 took place during July in Canada.

There were 25 members of Team GB who be racked up enough points to claim 2nd place, after Australia, in the final competition rankings.
Local lad Will Reed from Teddington did very well indeed :
He achieved 5 Personal Best times out of 8 events.
Will swam in two relays and missed out on a bronze medal in the final of the 4 x 50m relay by just 0.043 sec.
He is the 4th fastest swimmer in the world for swimmers with Downs Syndrome at 50m breaststroke.
Will is also the 6th fastest swimmer in the world for swimmers with Down Syndrome at 200m breaststroke.
